10 Ultimate Ways to Reverse your Age

1.  Use sunscreen during the day and re-apply throughout the day. Any anti-aging plan must start with a commitment to slather on the sunscreen every morning and re-apply every few hours throughout the day. The sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays are the primary causes of skin damage, sun spots, and photoaging. Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher.

Always find a way to shield your skin from the sun other than just leaving it up to your sunscreen to provide protection. Use an umbrella, broad bottomed English hat, sunglasses, and long-sleeved clothes to serve as added barrier between the sunlight and your skin. If you spend most of your day driving, don't think the sun can't get to you! Use sunscreen and consider getting a darker tint.

2.  Take better care of your skin by cleansing-toning-moisturizing. Beautiful, young-looking skin requires a clean canvass. Wash your face twice a day with gentle facial wash. Avoid using soaps that can strip away your skin's natural moisture. To maximize night time skin rejuvenation, use a facial cleanser that contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) before going to bed to thoroughly remove dirt, dust, excess oil, and makeup residues.

Follow up with a mild and non-alcohol based toner to condition your skin and keep pores clean and refreshed.
Moisturize your skin with heavy creams and an eye serum for the thin skin around your eyes. The best performing moisturizers are ones that contain collagen, antioxidants, and active ingredients for anti-aging such as co-enzyme Q10, hyaluronic acid, and peptides. For night time moisturization, use an anti-wrinkle cream infused with retinoids like tretinoin.

3.  Exfoliate skin regularly. Depending on your skin type, exfoliate skin as little as once every two weeks or as often as twice weekly. Exfoliating works by stripping off dead skin cells while simultaneously stimulating skin cells to repair damaged skin and to surface new, softer, and younger-looking skin.

4.  Get a facial procedure done. The most basic facial procedure you should get is a microdermabrasion. The principle behind which is similar to exfoliation only more intense and precise. Microdermabrasion deliberately wounds the top layer of skin.  This action scrapes dead and old skin cells, and stimulates the production of collagen and resurfacing of newer skin as well.

Spoil your skin some more with other non-surgical procedures like intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, red light emitting diode (LED) therapy, and laser procedures like fractional laser skin resurfacing and fraxel. All of which makes use of light-emitting devices of specified wavelengths designed to specifically target damaged skin to flush it out, stimulate collagen production, and facilitate resurfacing of new skin.

5.  Shift to a healthier lifestyle. If you think your skin can get away with your poor habits like smoking and excessive alcohol drinking, think again! Your skin is very much part of your body, so that however you treat your body shows up on your skin.

Smoking contains thousands of chemicals that damage the skin and harms your overall health and wellness. Excessive alcohol drinking, on the other hand, dehydrates your skin and causes skin to lose elasticity. Alcohol dries up your skin, makes your pores larger, and makes skin more prone to developing permanent lines and creases.

6.  Eat a healthy diet.  Your skin's ability to capture and lock in moisture, and repair itself depend on what you eat.

Load up on foods that contain high levels of vitamins and minerals. The key is to go for variety. Consider blending your greens and fruits to consume more of these good stuff. Nutritionists recommend consuming as much raw fruits and veggies as possible every day, the greens most especially. Chlorophyll has been found to aid the body (and skin) from the deteriorating effects of the natural aging process.

7.  Antioxidants.  Antioxidants protect skin from damage caused by free radicals and help fuel skin repair. Make berries, kiwi, and red kidney beans a regular part of your daily diet.

Drink two cups of green tea every day. Polyphenols, a very powerful antioxidant, is found at very high levels in green tea. Green tea lowers risks for developing heart diseases as it blocks bad cholesterol from being processed by the body and helps flush it out instead.

8.  Anti-Aging Supplements.  It's not easy obtaining all essential nutrients from food at quantities required by the body to fuel natural repair and rejuvenation processes.  This is why supplementation is important. However, it will be best to consult with your doctor before taking any supplement as excessive levels, such as those of Vitamin A, E, and zinc (which all play important roles in skin repair), can be toxic.

9.  Active lifestyle.  Pushing your body and your heart by performing cardio exercises improves blood and oxygen circulation. Exercise is the only way you can obtain that natural after workout glow. Keep muscles toned to prevent muscle loss and build-up of unwanted fat by toning your muscles through yoga and weight lifting routines.

10. Stay Stress Free.  This may be the last in the list but keeping stress at bay is just as important in anti-aging as any other item on this list...and the most difficult to practice.

Stress, in general, is not bad. However, too much and chronic stress is like a poison that kills your cells gradually. Take a break every once in a while to give yourself time to rest, and allow your body to heal. Learn how to manage your stress and the emotions that go with it better---it's for your own good.

There are a number of natural ways you can employ to keep age from showing on your skin and even keep you looking younger than you really are. The science is also here to help you achieve that. All it takes is a personal commitment to start a new, healthier routine and stick with it.
